Matthew Nangle All The Things You've Loved about Raising Your Voice… Trying to Stop an Echo... are here... Revitalized in a Newly Superb Fashion... to this day Kenotic and Raising your Voice... are two of my favorite Ethereal/Newgaze albums... in regards to sonic texture... i've always closely compared their "old" songs on those two albums which truly inspired me... Like... The Air Between Us or ...Like Starlight Into Day.. To Boards of Canada's Songs.. for instance Dayvan Cowboy from The Campfire Headphase...

sergpot Regrettably I came late to Hammock, missing their wonderful music for too long. This album especially redefines what I thought about beauty in music, as it goes far beyond any possible expectation. It will stay with me for as long as I live.

I've been drinking Just to settle down We keep sinking Into the dark of the hollow The light breaks overhead But we won't follow I keep drinking Under endless clouds I've been thinking Just to sort it out We keep dreaming In the wake of the shadows The sin has come undone But I won't let go I keep drinking Under endless clouds There's nothing wrong with me There's something wrong with you There's nothing wrong with me We're all alone There's something wrong with me There's nothing wrong with you There's something wrong with me We're not alone

Weightless On a cloud Only now Air between us Shapeless Off the ground Coming down Into pieces Wasted, We stare at the ceiling Wasted, We stare at the ceiling Blameless Without fear Stars reappear We were something Nameless All the years Nights disappear Into nothing Wasted, We Stared at the ceiling Wasted, We Stared at the ceiling Wasted, We Stared at the ceiling Wasted, We Stared at the ceiling Wasted, We Stared at the ceiling Wasted, We Stared at the ceiling

We wake up early morning Starlight on our face It came on without warning Two clouds in outer space And love was our Cathedral We were one Naked, we were waiting For the sun We were so young We were young We were young So young We were so young We were young We were young So young We stumble through the back roads Searching for the light Living in the unknown Hands held to the sky The world felt like a temple So divine We burned just like the stars That never die We were so young We were young We were young So young We were so young We were young We were young So young

So hard letting go my love now like birds who flew away so far So hard leaving home my love now to find your resting place somehow Take time Let go slowly The long night Oh you feel it Sometimes We get so lonely This time Oh I feel it Before we give up my love now let's sink into the quiet so deep Listen for the words unspoken let go of all the hurt we keep Take time Let go slowly The long night Oh you feel it Sometimes We get so lonely This time Oh I feel it Oh I feel it Oh I feel it Oh I feel it

Gone so far, Floating… The colors turn to black Like a star, Exploding… The lights will draw us back Gone so far, Floating… The colors turn to black Like a star, Exploding… The lights will draw you back Can’t escape, Violence… Beneath the suffering Slide away, In silence… We are the everything

Everyone is passed out on the floor It’s dawn again Don’t think I can do this anymore It’s dawn again It’s dawn again It’s dawn again Lost at sea and swimming for the shore It’s dawn again Flood the sky with laughter like before It’s dawn again It’s dawn again It’s dawn again

Saw her falling, She never liked to be at home. I heard her calling, Spinning out into the great unknown.  She always looked wired, Like a ghost so tired of feeling. And now the queen is dead, We listened to "the Queen Is Dead." We’d all like some time We all want some time  We’d all like some time to start over again.  We’d all like some time We all want some time  We’d all like some time to start over again.    Always dreaming Another world inside her eyes She’s always leaving Never knew how to be alive Screaming at the sky All the while she kept on sinking Over and over and over and over again Again We’d all like some time We all want some time  We’d all like some time to start over again.  We’d all like some time We all want some time  We’d all like some time to start over again.  This time I gotta find another reason Something that I can believe in Black eyes And I'm aiming for the ceiling Don’t wanna die for a feeling If I could just stop yearning To be all you ever needed I want more than this life alone   And then she asked me, Is this all? Is there really nothing? Nothing… We’d all like some time We all want some time  We’d all like some time to start over again.  We’d all like some time We all want some time  We’d all like some time to start over again.  She said I just wanna die and I wanna wake up alone.  Got no light in my eyes and my heart has turned into stone I don't wanna die, I don't wanna wake up alone I need more from this life, so much more than just flesh and bone We’d all like some time We all want some time  We’d all like some time to start over again.  We’d all like some time to start over again.

about

Hammock returns with Everything and Nothing, the Nashville duo’s first full-length album since 2013’s critically-acclaimed Oblivion Hymns. With Everything and Nothing, Hammock has entered oblivion – a place of personal struggle, doubt, and change – and come out the other side; hopeful. The experience is meticulously woven into each song, shared with listeners through intricate melodies, compelling beats, and solemn vocals. In some ways, Everything and Nothing is the spiritual successor to the band’s 2006 breakout album Raising Your Voice… Trying to Stop an Echo. It recalls the same mastery of sound and storytelling, destined to spark every listener’s imagination.
